How to Keep Developing Trust in Your Parent-Child Relationship? - ParentEd

Episode 75

How to Keep Developing Trust in Your Parent-Child Relationship?

Trust is at the core of all positive human relationships, especially between parents and their children. How do you begin building a trusting relationship in your family? What do you do when trust is broken between parent and child?

Joining our host, June Yong, is Jenni and Abby, a mother-daughter duo. Jenni a pastor of a local church and author of “Simple Tips for Happy Kids.” Abby is currently studying in university.

With stories of how they worked on trust through the years, Jenni and Abby realise that building trust is a two-way process where parents need to take the lead and children learn to respond.

Jenni encourages parents to take time to think through and process their values, seasons and histories as they communicate with their children. Abby reflects on how as children become young adults with greater ownership and awareness, that they too can play a big part in changing or growing the family culture of trust.
